Dushanbe Teahouse in Boulder, CO Celebrate Arts & Culture

tea house boulder co

Inside the Teahouse are eight large, intricately carved white plaster panels, designed and executed by Kodir Rakhimov, whose contemporary oil paintings are framed by this art of Persian antiquity. The ceiling of the Teahouse was carved and painted with intricate patterns traditional of Persian Art. The teahouse ceiling was originally built, carved and painted in Tajikistan. Absolutely no power tools were used in the original construction.

Teas for Everyone

Our blog offers information about herbs, recipes, and wellness. In the central pool of the Teahouse there are seven hammered copper sculptures created by artist Ivan Milosovich. The life sized sculptures are based on a 12th century poem, “The Seven Beauties ” the 4th poem of Nizami Ganjavi’s “Khamsa”. They chronicle the adventures of Shah Bahram Goirr, son of Yargourd the 1st from the Sasanids dynasty.

The Story of the Teahouse

Nizami uses the well documented events to explore the themes of social justice, morality, and appreciation of nature. The poem is notable for deep content and social sense, as well as rich composition and prominent poetic value. In his youth, our hero sees portraits of the seven daughters of the continents in a luxurious palace loses his heart to them. Later, when he becomes the Shah of Iran, he sends for the seven women and marries them. He has the renown architect, Shidda, build a palace with seven cupolas, each colored a different color with a corresponding planet.

Flavored Green Teas

From traditional English Breakfast to exotic Chai blends, we have something for every tea lover. Our chefs use only the freshest and highest-quality ingredients, ensuring a delicious and indulgent experience. White TeasWhite tea is the most simple of the tea types to describe, because it basically consists of the two steps of harvesting and drying. Originally, white tea was only produced in the Fujian province of China using bushes that were carefully selected and cultivated to produce this type of tea.

Throughout the Teahouse, every ceiling square or alcove is painted differently with traditional Persian designs. Originally crafted and painted in Tajikistan, the Teahouse gets periodic “touch up” from visiting Tajik artists. The building and grounds are property of the City of Boulder.

Oolong TeasOolong Tea encompasses all the tea that is partially oxidized, and the manufacture of oolong tea is an art form in its own right. Each farm or tea garden has proprietary methods of making their own type of tea. The tea goes through the initial steps of harvesting, sorting and weighing, and is then allowed to wither for a brief period. It is the next step that truly defines oolong tea as an artisan product. The leaves are bruised, using a variety of methods, and are then allowed to oxidize.

In general, the more oxidized the tea leaf, the darker the infusion and bolder the flavor. When visitors are asked about their favorite things to do in Boulder, the Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse inevitably makes the list of top attractions to see. This architecturally dazzling Persian teahouse was a gift from a sister city in Tajikistan. Keep reading to discover the unlikely story of how the teahouse came to Boulder. Kodir carved the ganch during his visit to Boulder, and it took many months to complete the job. First, Kodir mixed his secret blend of plaster, allowing it to cure to a specific consistency.

The work was crafted by hand exactly as it was centuries ago. Inside the Teahouse, there are 12 intricately carved cedar columns. In Central Asia, teahouses serve as gathering places where friends meet to talk or play chess over a cup of tea.

Best Korean Restaurants in Los Angeles

They are usually used for commercial tea bags and ready-to-drink products. The CTC method is highly efficient and able to produce tea at a lower cost. The beautiful and unique Dushanbe is an authentic Persian teahouse and the only one in the Western Hemisphere. They serve international cuisine for breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch. In addition, they offer a full bar and a lovely creek-side patio.

Naturally, tea time and afternoon tea are reason alone to visit, and the dessert selection is particularly tempting. Pour the hot water into the empty pot for a minute to warm it. This varies by leaf style, as some leaves are much bigger and thus take up more volume. I don’t find this a very contemplative practice, however, so I’ve devised a sight plan. I use a heaping teaspoon for green teas and oolongs, and herbals.

Then he placed it on an easel and began the painstakingly slow process of carving the delicate material. Each panel is composed of a number of “tiles” that when put together create the whole. After the panels were installed in the Teahouse, Kodir spent another month and a half perfecting his work.

And so, the princesses’ tales serve not only to entertain the Shah, but to ponder life and consider the secrets on the universe and human nature. The Teahouse features artisan teas that are produced using the orthodox method of manufacture. There are two main styles of manufacturing tea – the CTC (Cut, Tear, Curl) method, and the Orthodox method. Follow along on social media (@boulderteahouse) to learn more about the historic Teahouse and ongoing events. And come inside to gather and connect with others, just like the people of Tajikistan intended many years ago. On Saturday mornings and Wednesday afternoons, April through November, the Boulder Farmers Market happens right in front of the teahouse.

The entirety of the interior ceiling is handpainted and delicately carved to create a space that is both magical and airy. Ever since, the influence of tea has permeated every aspect of the Chinese society and culture. As trade routes were opened, tea quickly gained popularity in the West. Today, it is ranked second only to water as the world’s most consumed beverage. If you’re visiting in summer, try to nab a seat on the front patio, which flourishes with 45 aromatic varieties of roses. With the creek running by the south side of the patio, it’s a delightful escape.

On the proper day of the week, Bahram would dress himself in the appropriate color, and go to visit the wife that corresponded with the day. Each woman would relate to him a story from her native land and praise the attributes of her own color. All the tales are closely related to popular folklore and combine the scientific and philosophical views on the symbolic effects of the colors. The poem inspires honesty, virtue and kindness, while denouncing arrogance, villiany, greediness and treachery.

A time for people to gather and talk over warm cups of tea, the Teahouse was a fitting gift to the city of Boulder. At Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse, we are proud to offer an exquisite afternoon tea service, served daily from 3 p.m. It is the perfect mid-day indulgence to break up a busy schedule, catch up with friends or bond with loved ones. Our charming tea service offers a rich, indulgent experience from start to finish.

Kim Keefe, a Woodstock real estate agent, came up with the idea of a gift card exchange to Duke’s Inferno, which opened in Woodstock in the fall, in return for Public House gift cards. A sign on the door of the restaurant, handwritten on a yellowish piece of paper, simply read “closed” and was placed on the doors. The Public House of Woodstock, located inside the historic Old Courthouse Center, closed unexpectedly last weekend. We dined in the private dining steak house on Groundhog Day.

With nearly 11 months without customers and business, Loprino said she used the time to volunteer in the community and stay connected to customers and residents through social media. “It would be like a finer dining experience,” Loprino said, adding the steak-and-seafood diners will have their own section of the restaurant. Woodstock Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Brad Ball said the Public House closure is a “significant loss to the community.” Ball said Public House was a supporter of the chamber and the local community. The city of Woodstock took over the Old Courthouse in 2012, but extensive renovations began in February 2022. The renovations included fusing together the Old Courthouse and Sheriff’s House, building Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant entrances and replacing the roof, among other items.

Late-night food,

Many Angelenos are rightfully proud of our historical waterway, the Los Angeles River. But not many people know about the hidden gem that currently houses the Los Angeles River Center and Gardens (570 W Ave 26, Los Angeles 90065). Located in the Cypress Park neighborhood of Los Angeles (immediately east of the river, where the 110 and the 5 meet), this compound of stunning buildings in the Midcentury version of “Spanish” or “Colonial” style (both euphemisms that try to conceal the obvious Mexican influences) was built by the Lawry’s spice company in the 1950s. They expanded it in the 1960s) and Lawry’s became a famous collection of restaurants that highlighted the brand’s seasonings.

Share your Moments

We are sure you have seen shows at the Hollywood Bowl (2301 N Highland Ave, Los Angeles 90068), but did you know that you can rent the restaurants right at the site for events of various sizes with a catering menu by James Beard Award-winning L.A. Keefe said that she went to lunch at Public House last Friday and had a gift card she didn’t use. After news of the closure spread, others shared online that they had Public House gift cards they couldn’t use. Up north from Cypress Park, overlooking the city of Glendale, one finds another majestic public building that is available for rental as an event space. The Brand Library and Art Center (1601 W Mountain St, Glendale 91201) opened in 1956 in what used to be Mirador, the stately home of local pioneer developer Leslie C. Brand (after which several Glendale landmarks are named).

According to previous Northwest Herald reporting, $39,200 of outstanding rent payments from the COVID-19 pandemic and $350,000 of compensation for the closure would have been forgiven. However, it was contingent on the business being open for another five years. The Woodstock City Council approved a lease with Katlo Inc., the Public House company, in 2022. As part of that lease agreement, the city approved a revolving loan to compensate for the loss of business because of the construction-related closure. An automatic message saying Public House is “permanently closed” greets those who dial the number for the restaurant.

Loprino said she hopes to include more food that comes from the Woodstock farmers market and locally owned businesses. Public House had been located inside the Old Courthouse since 2014, but it closed from October 2022 to September 2023 during the renovations of the city-owned former courthouse, the centerpiece of the Square that the city has invested millions of dollars in. While the Brands lived there, during Southern California’s early-20th-century oil and real estate boom, their Mirador hosted some wild, Gatsby-worthy ragtime and jazz-era parties. Though Leslie Brand stipulated that the building should be mainly used as a library for the public good, its availability for your private event (which the city of Glendale permits on a case-by-case basis) ensuring that its reputation as a site for luxury whoopee-makin’ will last into the 21st century. The Public House of Woodstock is located in the Old Courthouse on the Historic Square in downtown Woodstock IL. Stop by and enjoy dining in a jail cell or in the main dining room that was the courthouse.

The library’s focus is visual arts and music and is home to several arts programs, performances and exhibitions. Built in 1904, the library reopened in 2014 after a two-year renovation that restored the Nathaniel Dryden-designed building to its Gilded Age splendor. The building features late-Victorian spaces and East-Indian-influenced details, much in vogue in the imperial/colonial imagination of the age of the great World Fairs. The combination of open and closed environments that look like a Technicolor, movie-set version of a Spanish-style villa—complete with ivy-covered walls, courtyards, soothing fountains, lawns, and even a working fireplace! —has made the Los Angeles River Center a word-of-mouth success with people planning all manner of events, especially weddings.

The complex also features an educational exhibit about the L.A. River, and it’s right next to the River Garden Park. There are many places in the city that advertise their uniqueness and their availability as venues for your gathering, but we thought we would focus on a few hidden gems that should provide the perfect setting for an unforgettable experience. Whichever of these one-of-a-kind locations you choose as most suitable for your taste, we guarantee your guests will be saying “remember that time we had a party at…? Some changes to the menu include smaller, more affordable lunch portions and a special steak-and-seafood menu on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Over the course of the renovations, workers encountered obstacles, including finding a room at the Public House filled with rocks, which had to be hand-shoveled out. Workers found load-bearing walls they did not know were there, Loprino said. Aug. 18 marked Public House’s soft reopening, Loprino said. With October marking 20 years in business, the Public House will commemorate both its reopening and anniversary at that time. The mayor said the city is in the early stages of talking with interested businesses in taking over the space. Turner confirmed the city’s assistance to Public House during the courthouse closure and said the city “will absolutely protect our interests” in the Old Courthouse.

In the meantime, the Public House has a new head chef and will be slowly expanding the menu in the coming weeks, with the full menu ready to go for the celebrations in October, Loprino said. Public House, which has been located in the Old Courthouse since 2014, closed last October as part of the $22 million renovations on the 166-year-old Old Courthouse and Sheriff’s House. Nearly a year after construction closed the Public House of Woodstock, co-owner Kathryn Loprino was eager to welcome back customers last Friday. Both were 14-year veterans of the department assigned to the task force. Three members of the marshals’ task force were fatally shot, Jennings said. One of those killed was a deputy US marshal, 48-year-old Thomas M. Weeks, who is survived by his wife and four children, according to the US Marshals Service. Jennings said 12 CMPD officers fired their weapons during the incident, all of whom have been placed on administrative leave pending a standard officer-involved shooting investigation. Charlotte Wire and Cable was begun in 1993 and is a specialty electrical wire and cable distributor that sells exclusively to electrical distributors.

Hughes then jumped out of the second story window onto an awning and officers shot and killed Hughes, the memo said. The increased violence against police officers in the past few years mirrors the broader rise in shootings and violence in the US since 2020. As law enforcement agents set up a perimeter around the residence, the memo said, Hughes opened fire with what was likely an AR-15-style rifle from a second-story window, striking 8 officers, the memo said. One of the fatally wounded officers, Joshua Eyer, died from his injuries “with his wife and family by his side” after fighting for several hours, police said. The six-year veteran of the CMPD is survived by his wife and 3-year-old son, Jennings said during a Monday evening news conference. An internal law enforcement memo reviewed by CNN shows officers are looking for the person who bought the firearm used in the shooting to potentially bring federal charges.

The police chief described the shooting as “the most tragic one” he had been involved with in his 32-year-long law enforcement career. The internal law enforcement memo gives a detailed outline of Monday’s shooting, revealing law enforcement agents approached the suspect outside of a home. The shooting in Charlotte happened as members of a US Marshals fugitive task force were serving a warrant for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in the Shannon Park neighborhood, Jennings said. “I ask that all Charlotteans keep them, the other injured officers, and their families in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time,” Lyles said. Another officer, Justin Campbell, broke his foot and was released from the hospital Tuesday morning after being treated, according to a release from the police department.

While theories behind any violent crime vary, the FBI has tried to piece together an explanation of why some people attack police officers. One CMPD officer who was injured by gunfire, Christopher Tolley, remains hospitalized in stable condition after undergoing surgery, Jennings said. Two other officers who were shot, Michael Giglio and Jack Blowers, were released on Monday after being treated. Two of the officers killed, Sam Poloche and Alden Elliott, worked for the state’s Department of Adult Correction, according to Todd Ishee, the department’s secretary.

Authorities identified the deceased suspect as 39-year-old Terry Clark Hughes Jr. He was wanted for possession of a firearm by a felon and two counts of felony flee to elude out of Lincoln County, North Carolina, police said. Jennings said during a Tuesday news conference the investigation is active and ongoing. If you make a purchase by clicking one of the links, we may earn an affiliate fee.

In 2022, there were 331 officers shot in the line of duty, including 62 by gunfire and 32 killed in ambush-style attacks, according to the Fraternal Order of Police. The year before, 346 officers were shot in the line of duty, including 63 by gunfire, the data shows. The compound tragedy adds to a growing list of officers shot and killed in the line of duty this year. At least 98 officers were shot in the line of duty from January through March, according to the Fraternal Order of Police, an organization representing US law enforcement officers. “I can’t remember an incident where three law enforcement officers were killed in the same incident, as well as one in critical condition and additional (officers) that were shot and injured,” Jennings said. The officers were met with gunfire from a “high-powered rifle” and returned fire, fatally shooting the suspect.

Pro Soccer Wire operates independently, though, and this doesn’t influence our coverage. Police initially believed there might have been another suspect shooting from inside the residence, but Jennings told CNN on Tuesday it’s likely Hughes was moving through different parts of the home. Portland suffered a 3-2 road loss to Los Angeles FC in its most recent game on April 27, getting outshot 22 to 10. Charlotte FC’s last game was a 2-1 loss away from home to New York City FC while being outshot by 13 in the matchup, 18 to five. At Cusick Electrical Sales, Inc, we represent a strategic group of top-level electrical manufacturers that serve the Industrial and Commercial markets of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland and Delaware since 1957.

Jennings said the task force had been serving the warrant to that suspect. Four other law enforcement officers were shot during the incident, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Johnny Jennings said Monday evening. (CNN) — Four officers were killed in a shooting while attempting to serve a warrant at a home in Charlotte, North Carolina, including one deputy US marshal and two local task force officers, authorities say. There were 378 officers shot in the line of duty in 2023 – the highest number on record since the Fraternal Order of Police began tracking the data. They included 46 officers killed by gunfire and 20 killed in ambush-style attacks, according to the Fraternal Order of Police.

The soundtrack has also been changed to featuring cinematic Star Wars music but with a dark, horror twist. The character makeup and costuming will also be unique for this event featuring sith-inspired makeup and black sith robes. During the exclusive outing, guests will venture through the hidden chamber that has been changed to ultraviolet light, giving the attraction a cosmic feel. As the story goes, a long time ago, in a town not so far away, there was a textile mill where many workers were tortured. Friends and neighbors have posted a petition drive called “Save the Sherman Oaks Boney Island Treehouse.” Polizzi is deeply grateful for the support but isn’t sure how the signatures can slow down the process. Over the next few years, he went back and forth with city inspectors – spending, he says, more than $40,000 of his own money to modify the house, and even entertaining a suggestion that he hire police to provide security.

As the night wound down, Saenz asked Limon to drive him and another man to Torres’ home. Limon needed to use the restroom, so he parked the limousine and accompanied his passengers to the front porch. The driver said he was returning to Los Angeles from Pittsburgh, where he’d gone to visit family. In the trunk Lineback found dryer sheets, which the deputy said can be used to mask the smell of drugs. After hearing Saenz had gone to see his grandmother, Garriola installed a camera on a telephone pole facing her house. A rare type of cancer killed Pena while he was still behind bars, said Deputy Dist.

Lemp Mansion St. Louis, MO

The Bates Motel and Bates Psycho Path (GET IT?) have been dazzling visitors for 30 years with a particularly slick experience featuring animatronic props actors, and digital FX. The third attraction, the monster-filled Revenge of the Scarecrows Haunted Corn Trail, features walk-through sets and over 30 actors in creepy costume. In 2021, though, those actors won't be touching anyone—masks are also required, and there's a temperature check at the door. Joe Couto and his team describe their experiences as paranormal investigators. They also describe how a typical investigation is run through their group. Experience restless spirits from spectral actors or their former ghostly theatre staff with a mission.

Commercial haunted houses

From the house where the Black Dahlia murders took place, to the house Hudson B. Gillis loved so much he never wanted to leave, all of them will leave you questioning “reality”. The spirit in this case is thought to be that of a man who had been living in the house from 1910 to, apparently, this day. This included seeing frightening figures, hearing voices from the wall, fires breaking out without sources and a haunting feeling which drives the inhabitants into depression.

If you're one of those travelers who longs for adventures filled with ghost stories and goosebumps, consider adding one of the most haunted houses in America to your travel list — some of them even let guests spend the night. Paranormal experts say this colonial-era property is haunted to the gills. In the 1970s, the Perron parents and five daughters experienced a demon or poltergeist that physically harmed the family in a plethora of ways, including a scythe falling from a barn beam to nearly decapitate the mother. Ed and Lorraine Warren showed up to tackle the malevolence—events loosely portrayed in the movie The Conjuring. When the Snedeker family lived here in the 1980s, the drama they experienced in this haunted house (and former funeral home) was so crazy that it inspired a popular horror flick called The Haunting in Connecticut. During a two-year span, the Snedeker parents claimed to have been physically assaulted and sodomized by demonic spirits and said a creepy man with long black hair often visited their son Philip.

He died suddenly in 1918, and his spirit is said to haunt the mansion. Visitors have reported seeing his apparition, hearing his footsteps and feeling his presence. Real life haunted houses in California don’t come much scarier than this.

"Every business will eventually fail, so we just want to last as long as we possibly can." Franklin Castle is a private residence, so you can't tour it, but some ghost tours pass by the home to tell its spooky story. You can also catch the house on an episode of Travel Channel's "Ghost Adventures."

Winchester Mystery House, California

Their eldest son, Ronald DeFeo Junior, went unharmed and he was ultimately charged with the murders. If you're into ghost-hunting shows, you probably already know about this famous haunted house. The unassuming home in Atchison, Kansas, is rumored to be the dark lair for a demon who takes on the form of a little girl, stemming from a family's bizarre experiences there. This rambling Victorian mansion sits on a busy street in San Jose, California, and according to legend, it's haunted by the ghosts of everyone ever killed by a Winchester rifle. In order to appease them, the house's owner, Sarah Winchester, the heir to the Winchester rifle fortune (and the founder's widow), kept adding on rooms to the house to make more space for the dead. This house is the site of a grim murder where in 1974 a son killed his parents and four siblings by gun.

Lawrence Austin reopened the theater after Hampton’s death in the early nineties; in 1997, he was fatally shot in the lobby in a plot concocted by his lover/projectionist. Hampton is said to haunt the upstairs lounge while Austin covers the lobby. Each year, they take on a new, multisensory theme– all equally terrifying.

Despite its architectural allure, Fond du Lac’s unique Octagon House hides a gloomy story. It’s whispered that a tragic accident claimed the life of one of the owner’s daughters within these walls. Today, visitors report chilling sensations, especially around the stairwell, coupled with the disturbing ring of summoning bells and eerie nocturnal screams. Mandan’s Fort Abraham Lincoln Custer House is said to be haunted by Lt. Col Custer and Mrs. Custer, who lived in the home for a mere two years.

In the tapestry of American folklore, certain homes have become famous for the tales of the restless spirits within their walls, and each has a spine-chilling story to tell. The franchise kicked off with 2015’s Hell House LLC, which quickly gained a following as one of the best of the found-footage space. The film follows a documentary crew investigating a haunted house attraction called “Abaddon Hotel,” where a tragedy occurred during its opening night.

Her eyes sparkle as she speaks with the runaway, chatty energy of a hostess welcoming you to a party. Her outsize personality is lovingly parodied on TikTok, and she’s prone to referencing the stars—both longtime friends like Kate Moss, her children’s godmother, and those twinkling in the cosmos—as well as energy frequencies. Tilbury says, “I don’t want to see invisible women,” so her products make eyes look brighter and complexions more dewy, and are known for creating an intensely glamorous effect. Worth noting, the packaging used thinner plastic and was much lighter-weight (to the point of feeling a little flimsy) compared to other Charlotte Tilbury lip products.

LIP BALM

This lipstick balm formula was created to leave lips looking plumper, smoother, and more hydrated while giving them a happy glow. It glides on with a nourishing, cushiony, dewy-soft, gloss finish, and features high-performance, hydrating color your lips will love. The finish was exceptionally shiny, and it did give the illusion of plumper lips.

BEAUTY LIGHT WANDPINKGASM SUNSET

Whether the product looked smoothing depended on the shade as some were more flattering to wear than others. They lasted between three and five hours, were hydrating, and didn't feather/bleed on me despite being a creamier, more emollient consistency; they seemed to adhere better than a true lip balm, but they were still comfortable to wear. The formula had a subtle, sweet vanilla scent but no discernible taste. The shades tended to have mostly opaque to opaque color coverage rather than "medium coverage." In person, Tilbury’s eyes are an electric blue-green that pops, especially when rimmed with her signature thick, elongated violet eyeliner (if you’d like to learn how to make your eye color stand out like hers, you can “Shop by Eye Colour” on the website). She is famous, like Dolly Parton, for sleeping in her makeup.

Duplicate a high-end product or never buy the same shade twice. The average rating based on all reviewed shade(s) in this formula is shown below.

But for every Stephen Sondheim masterpiece there’s a barrage of jukebox and movie musicals eager to cash in on the forgiving nostalgia of theatergoers. Admittedly, the book by playwright Jackie Sibblies Drury and director and choreographer Justin Peck is more of an evolving scenario than a discernible drama. A compromise is struck between the theater’s proclivity for story and dance’s penchant for abstraction, allowing audience members to connect narrative strands in their own way.

The 12-dancer company is highly individualized, distinct in presence and style of movement. Each figure suggests a unique background, but certain facets of being recur. The inherent difficulty of coming of age is shared in a piece that tracks the movement from innocence to experience. All the elements of a musical are to be found in “Illinoise.” The music, blending indie folk, alt rock and chamber pop, creates space for collective reflection. The lyrics — poetic shards that blur the line between the personal and the historic, the symbolic and the idiosyncratic, the living and the dead — swirl from the recesses of inner life.

To this day, guests recount inexplicable encounters with the spirits of both father and son, emphasizing the mansion’s haunted legacy. At the Liberty Hall on Wilkinson Street, the ghostly presence of Margaretta Varick looms large. Having met an inexplicable demise during her stay, visitors say she predominantly haunts the bedroom of her passing. Dubbed the “Gray Lady,” she’s said to have been witnessed standing silently in the dead of night. The Ackleys found themselves entangled in a legal battle over whether or not they should have disclosed the haunted "nature" of the house to the Stambosvky family. In a landmark legal decision now referred to as “The Ghostbusters Ruling,” Ackley House was deemed haunted by the New York Supreme Court, and the buyers were able to pull out of the sale while also getting half of their down payment back. 1 La Veta Place has since been home to several celebrities, including musician Ingrid Michaelson.

Located in New York City’s Central Park, The Ramble has been a popular cruising location for decades. One of the most well known cruising destinations in New York City,  The Ramble is a wooded area near the Central Park Lake where guys cruise for discreet hookups off major pathways. Sniffies is a gay Geolcation hookup site that works kind of like Grindr. The only wonderful difference is that it is not strictly app based and its easy and free to use. Only features that are Premium membership settings are camera chat, seeing who has deleted or blocked you and to post public adds on the site. Otherwise communication on the site and the upload of pics and creation of your profile are free to use. Downsides the site is still only 4-6 years old so not enough people know about sniffies so they can def. When i first got on the site in 2020 i was getting more guys than i knew what to do with but now its trickled off partly bc i think iv slept with most of the men on the site interested in me in my area.

A Deep Dive into Features and Philosophy

But you can easily report such persons luckily and the site takes such complaints seriously. One other criticism I would give the site is I feel they should make it easier to email customer support or give a phone number if you have a issue. They do have a customer support email but it is like looking for a needle in a haystack and unless you know were to find it you would be at a loss as to how to contact anybody directly. But all in all not a bad site it just needs more users is all. I would give it 5 stars if I could load more than one photo, (although you can message them).

These are all the celebrities Who came out as LGBTQ+ in 2023

It's FAR far far worse than Grindr if you can even imagine that .... Sniffies is a great idea, so good that the government will probably end up regulating it. The problem with Sniffies is the Anonymous user feature gives Scammers and Doxxers free reign to do whatever they want. They try to get your face pic, phone number, and a screenshot of sexual chat, then will try to blackmail the user. For closeted and downlow users this is a problem but it shouldn't be a problem for guys who are out.

In the realm of Sniffies, your profile is your silent ambassador. A well-chosen photo can speak volumes, inviting others into your world with just a glance. The platform's design encourages honesty and clarity, letting you state your intentions, interests, and status without ambiguity. Whether you're hosting or just browsing, your profile is the key to unlocking Sniffies' full potential. With the “Sniffies Cruising Sport” capsule collection, you can embrace the fetish and enjoy your own motocross fantasy. We use dedicated people and clever technology to safeguard our platform.

Kink has been a part of the LGBTQ+ community since before Stonewall, and it’s not going away. Volunteer Park is located in Seattle, and, in fact, features several different areas that are perfect for cruising. According to Sniffies users, the tennis courts, and the area by flag pole are just a few of the popular cruising spots in Volunteer Park. Locals on the Sniffies map note that while the foliage near the tennis courts is enough cover for daytime cruising, the area by the tennis courts is best for night time action, as it’s out in the open. Load the Sniffies map to find the best times to cruise Volunteer Park. While cruising locations used to be shared via word of mouth, today, the Sniffies map is the simplest way to find the best local cruising spots in your city — from bathhouses to gay bars.

Thrilled to witness our users constantly evolving. This year, we noticed a fascinating surge in activity from our straight-curious users and those diving deeper into their personal kinks. Sniffies is the go-to for the curious, and we’re eager to forge more connections within our vibrant cruising community in 2024. While the free tier of Sniffies offers a wealth of possibilities, the curious Cruiser might consider Sniffies Plus.

To live that fantasy, Sniffies’ collection includes performance style “Moto Underwear '' that ranges from briefs, sports briefs, and jockstraps in a variety of vibrant colors. From a striking, color blocked “Cruising Short” to a motocross style “Moto Jacket,” there’s something for everyone who’s curious. In the futuristic and sex-positive world Sniffies creates in the “Sniffies Cruising Sport” collection, curious racers are in their underwear, kicking up dust and dirt on their dirt bikes.

They do not take down the drug referencing accounts. They also allow anonymous accounts which are rarely filled out with any information whatsoever. I’ve been verbally attacked repeatedly by the same account. Sniffies also has a “spam filter” which doesn’t work well and will automatically remove messages randomly without violating the rules. Gave directions to a buddy & sniffies removed the message claiming rule violation.

There aren't many people on in my area, but that is understandable. Those that are, seem to be genuine as a buddy of mine is on there also and our locations shown by our "erect gear" photo bubbles are precise. There are ads emailed to your site inbox (not your personal one), but they are not too intrusive and are generally designed to upgrade to a paying account. You can't delete ad messages, but they go away after a short while (then come back, mind you). I got a message for free Prep, so I took advantage of it after making sure it was legit, and it was and I'm getting free Prep now.

We’ve combed through the entire Sniffies map to showcase Sniffies’ most popular cruising destinations across the US. Without further ado, we present Sniffies Top 4 Cruising Locations for Summer 2023. In the digital era, where anonymity and instant gratification converge, Sniffies emerges as a groundbreaking platform for the gay, bi, and curious Cruiser community. Sniffies isn't just an app; it's a cultural phenomenon, redefining the landscape of gay cruising with a blend of modern technology and age-old desires. Yazmen at the front desk is absolutely wonderful along with everyone else that works here. We like the location and the swimming pool is wonderful. The hot tube was the only negative as it did not work. I even made a stop at the office of the manager of the hotel and let him know how much we enjoyed the stay. Staff and breakfast was wonderful as well as Robert our server. Prices runs $160 for a 7-day cruise with shuttle, after taxes/fees.

If you want to enjoy a round of golf while staying nearby, consider staying at the Moody Gardens Hotel Spa and Convention Center. Once you are on Galveston Island, I-45 becomes Broadway Avenue, leading you directly to Galveston Seawall. You’ll see the beach, hotels and the Seawall itself overlooking the shimmering Gulf of Mexico. There are no airports on Galveston Island so you’ll probably be flying into Houston, TX. The William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) in Houston is about 40 minutes from Galveston.

Destined to be the “bulwark against the sea,” construction on the barrier island began in 1902. Galveston engineers spent the next decades adding to it on either side, further increasing the island’s protection from storms. Galveston Island is 27 miles long and just 3 miles wide. After years of being bombarded by devastating hurricanes along the Texas Gulf Coast in the early 1900s, the Galveston Seawall was finally commissioned.

Los Angeles

These are the destinations that the Carnival will be traveling to from New Orleans in 2024. Another ship, Carnival Glory, went on an over two-week-long hiatus to upgrade several spots on the ship, the news release said. A new bar and lounge dedicated to Army veterans and active duty military and a photography studio are some of the latest additions. Princess Cruises is also planning the return of its 14-day trip to the Hawaiian Islands once Hawaii lifts its COVID-19 travel restrictions. You can see a list of nearby hotels to the World Cruise Center here. Both ports are located just a few miles of each other, with one in San Pedro and the other in Long Beach.

Things to Do in Los Angeles

Between Greek meze and Italian feasts, Los Angeles is the epicenter for global cuisine. Savor food from world-renowned chefs—like Thomas Keller, Nobu Matsuhisa and Wolfgang Puck. Enjoy a beachside brunch in the morning, then taste late-night bites on a downtown rooftop or visit the Original Farmer's Market. Delight in fresh seafood or veggie-heavy dishes at any of the plant-based restaurants throughout the city.

Further north, you’ll visit historic Astoria, Oregon and Victoria, the pretty capital of Canada’s forested Vancouver Island. Alternatively, sail south to the extraordinary Panama Canal, exploring chic Mexican beach towns, lush Costa Rica, and the glorious old city of Cartagena, Colombia along the way. From the star-studded Hollywood Boulevard to the celebrity-rich Beverly Hills, Los Angeles is home to iconic landmarks and people. Before or after your cruise from LA, tour Warner Brothers Studios and explore sets from your favorite TV shows. Walk along Venice Beach, where athletes, entertainers and creatives converge.

When considering one of the cruises out of Port Canaveral, plan extra time before and after your sailing to soak up all the fun that the area has to offer. There's so much to do in Orlando that you could stay for several days and never get bored — music to your ears if you're traveling with children. One of the best things about Orlando cruises is that you have your choice of theme parks to round out your vacation.

Soak up this private spot by relaxing on the beach, enjoy the destination's signature cocktail specialty, the Labadoozie (a fruity rum cocktail) or opt for a zip line ride that will send you soaring over the ocean. The next private island destination is Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean's oasis in The Bahamas. Here you'll port within short distance of pristine beaches, a thrilling water park and countless ways to unwind beneath the palm trees. There's also a stop in Bermuda, home to pink-sand beaches and rum swizzles. Seeking sun, tequila tasting and great Mexican food south of the border?

Whether you’re maximizing just a few days on a three-night cruise from Los Angeles, or leveling up your vacation on a week-long escape, you’re in for an unforgettable adventure. Given that Honolulu, Hawaii is 3,000 or so nautical miles from Los Angeles, it's hardly a quick jaunt. But travelers who don't mind a leisurely, longer voyage (typically nine sea days and four back-to-back days exploring Hawaii) have several good choices. On Oct. 27, premium Celebrity Cruises' offers a pampering, 15-night voyage roundtrip from Los Angeles at San Pedro on the 2,850-passenger Celebrity Eclipse, one of its popular Solstice-class vessels.

You can see all of these and more on the Grand City Tour by StarLine Tours which operates two times a day, seven days a week. Not far from Port Canaveral, the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is a great place to spend a day admiring the vast scope of NASA. The center offers one-of-a-kind immersion into space exploration, including the chance to strap into a rocket launch simulator for an adrenaline-pumping thrill.

Sail there on a three-night cruise from Los Angeles so you can break away from the daily grind and chase island vibes instead. By the way, there are two cruise ports in the Los Angeles area but they are only about 7 miles apart. Only Carnival ships sail out of Long Beach so most of the cruises below sail from the cruise port in San Pedro. Escape the hustle and bustle of LA and drive up the coast to the laid-back city of Malibu. On the World Cruise leaving from Los Angeles, settle into the comforts of your new home as you spend more time at sea and visit even more destinations without the typical hassle of travel.

Another fan-favorite stop on cruises from Los Angeles to Mexico, Cabo San Lucas totally lives up to the hype. This exquisite itinerary to the Southern Caribbean on Adventure of the Seas® routes you to the farthest corner of the Caribbean for some of its best beaches. Sailing on the Adventure of the Seas® for eight nights from Port Canaveral, you'll stop in ports such as Oranjestad, Aruba; Willemstad, Curaçao; and Kralendijk, Bonaire.

And you can be picked up anywhere else in the area to get to the ship on your own schedule. This world cruise actually begins in January of 2024 but it had to be added to this list. Yes, you can even sail to Tahiti and the South Pacific from Los Angeles.

And on top of a beautiful, elegant ship you get to sail to 3 of the best ports on the Mexican West Coast. Norwegian Cruise Line's new amenity-laden, 4,004-passenger Norwegian Bliss was an instant star when it recently began cruising from Los Angeles (San Pedro) to the Mexican Riviera. Based on consumer demand, Norwegian also will bring a nearly new sister, the 3,802-passenger Norwegian Joy, back from China.

The Carnival Liberty will set sail from New Orleans this summer and make multiple stops at beach vacation destinations. Before that, the last cruise ship that set sale from the port was the Norwegian Cruise Line Joy, which left on March 15, 2020, according to the port. Cruise operations at the Port of Los Angeles resumed on Sept. 25, with the Grand Princess cruise ship setting sale for a five-day trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines offers year-round, twice-weekly, three- day trips to Ensenada, Mexico, and four-day cruises to Ensenada and Catalina Island. People seeking to take cruises from Los Angeles can check out Princess Cruises' 2022 itineraries, which are mainly week-long trips to the Mexican Riviera, with excursions in Cabo San Lucas, Puerta Vallarta and Mazatlan. The good news is there are plenty of options within just a few minutes of the port.

You can read more about all your options on getting to the ship (including shuttles) and pricing on our Los Angeles cruise transportation page. While they would never be mistaken with the world’s most popular cruise ports like Miami and Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles and Long Beach are still heavily trafficked cruise ports. You can see all of these and more on the Grand City Tour by StarLine Tours which operates twice a day, seven days a week. Norwegian Cruise Line offers 3 Panama Canal cruises out of LA this year, each on a Breakaway-class vessel. Celebrity Eclipse is a popular Solstice-class vessel, and this itinerary gives you an extra day to spend in San Diego before you have to head back to LA. Furthermore, Cruise Critic makes no guarantees for availability of prices advertised on our site.
